The MSRP is simply an acronym for manufacturer's suggested retail price. Unless the car you plan to purchase is both high in demand and low in supply, it should be fairly easy to buy the car for less than MSRP value. If a new Corvette, Mustang, etc. is due in the spring, you may have trouble getting below MSRP since it will be high in demand and just starting production. If you buy that sports car during the winter, the demand is gone and you'll probably get a much better price.
